Tai Chi is was originally a martial art and became a form of exercise suitable for everyone. It is slow, smooth and elegant and helps to improve posture, balance and health.
Beginners start with the Foundation Form, which is a short version of the Long Form. The Long Form has three parts. Moves learned in the Short Form are repeated many times in the Long Form.
Classes always begin with standing meditation, followed by some warm-up exercises. Both of these are very simple and do not require much exertion.
Wilton Grange Tuesday evening class is mainly attended by more experienced students, although beginners are welcome at all classes.
Our classes are popular with older students, and some attend more than one class per week.
